Madam Tussauds Wax Attraction - Orlando, FL

In the 360 eye complex location on International Drive sits the new home to Madam Tussauds wax attraction.  It is a place to get up close and personal with some of the celebrities you have loved from leaders in history to those on the A list.  Each attraction is sculpted to capture all of the things that make our favorite people so interesting and special.  Whether it is sitting down with Walt Disney or hanging out in the Shrek onion you will be transformed from your world into theirs.

Sea Life Aquarium- Orlando, FL

This past year a new attraction was built on International Dr enticing passengers to soar 400 yards above the theme parks and chaos of the streets below.  In addition to the eye there are 2 other attractions inside the facility.  One of them is the Sea Life Aquarium and the other is Madam Tussauds wax museum.  A friend of mine was able to get us into all 3 of the adventures and I thought they all are done very well.

The Orlando Eye - Orlando, FL

This year a new attraction hit the scene in Orlando and of course I wanted to try it out for the blog.  The nice part about this attraction is that there are many things to do in the area, free parking, and you have many choices in things to do.  The building that houses the Eye also has a Sea Life Aquarium and Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum. You can buy any of these experiences individually or save as you combine them. Then outside the area there are many restaurants/museums/arcades/ to explore and then there is even more surrounding the landing.

The Eye is a 400 foot observation wheel.  It has roughly 30 capsules that rotate on the wheel.  It takes about 20 minutes for the wheel to complete a rotation.  There is seating in the middle of the capsule for those that are not as into the heights as others.  From the middle of the capsule you are able to see out but unless you walk directly up on the glass you cannot really see down.

The Great Escape Room - Orlando, FL

A couple of girlfriends and I went to the Great Escape Room for one of our friends birthdays.  We went to the Orlando location which the door to the place seemed to be hidden itself.  Squished between a business and a bar you would have no idea it was there unless you were looking for the Sherlock Holmes flyers posted around.  Once you are inside there is no cameras allowed so I do not have pictures of the actual event.

However her is the breakdown - you and up to 10 people are locked in a room for 60 minutes and have to figure your way out using clues, riddles, rhymes.  When we went there were  5 of us and then there was another group of 8.  Talk about a new way to get to know someone, try to figure out off the wall riddles and be one of the groups that gets to say "I did it!"  There are several different rooms to try so even if you come try it out you can always come back and solve the other room as well.

Port Canaveral and The Exploration Tower - Cape Canaveral, FL

Recently we decided to check out the Port Canaveral area as we heard there have been a lot of changes to the southern ports.  Apparently they are really focused on building up the port area to attract more families to watch the ships.  One of the nice things is that there are quite a few restaraunts right along the water that you can sit and have a nice lunch (or drink) at and check out the big ships and they sail for sea.

Right up the road there is a new attraction called the Exploration Tower - it is a 7 story building that goes over the different things that make the port area special. It is extremely affordable and very educational.

On the top floor you can see all the way to the vehicle assembly building at the Kennedy space center.

The 6th floor was all about the NASA program -

The 5th floor was about the port itself and the cruise ships - you can even play a game where you have to bring the ship into port.

The 4th floor has a private viewing area for space launches and events.

The 3rd floor had interactive exhibits and a movie about the area

The second floor discussed the principles of science in play in the area and a giant exhibit made out of all recycled items.

The first floor is the lobby and the gift shop.

down the street from this area is the Jetty Park Beach and Camp grounds - there is a playground, beach, tackle shop, dolphin watching etc.  for more information click here - http://www.jettypark.org/
